Finding help at school

There are plenty of people to help with problems or concerns at school. If you have a problem this chart should help you reach the best people to help. A chart is on display in every classroom.

Who can I ask if I need help with:

They will: talk to me about my concerns.
They may: find strategies to help me, give me time to practice if I need it, talk to my parents/carers about extra help.
Lost Property My Class Teacher, Mrs Arrows
They will: remind me where I can look for it.
They may: help me to look for it.
Getting hurt in the playground An adult in the playground, a peer mentor
They will: ask me how I feel and look at my injury.
They may: send me inside to First Aid or tell me what to do to feel better.
An argument or problem in the playground An adult in the playground, a peer mentor
They will: talk to me and ask me to explain what has happened, then find the right way to solve my problem.
They may: speak to any other children involved and lead a restorative conversation if it is needed, talk to my Class Teacher, Mrs Blyth or Mrs Gordon if I need more help to solve the problem.
Being bullied My Class Teacher, an adult in the playground, a peer mentor
They will: listen to me while I explain my worries and help me to find a solution to the problem. They will check afterwards that I feel safe.
They may: talk to other children to find a way to sort out the problem, talk to Mrs Blyth or Mrs Gordon about how to get the right help.
