Eltham Palace

Eltham Palace dates back to medieval times. The Great Hall was added by Edward IV in the 1470s but after the sixteenth century when Greenwich Palace became more important the building declined. There was a major addition to the site in the 1930s when the wealthy Courtauld family built a private house.
The buildings and grounds are now in the care of English Heritage.
