Spring Term 2018

We are looking forward to another busy term.
As part of the whole school Take One project – Blue Planet, we will be exploring the impact of pollution on
our ocean habitats. We will be linking this work to geography , science , art and PSHCE.

Our Science Topic this term will focus on ‘Materials’: We will be investigating different sorts of materials
and how they can be changed in some way. To support our topic we welcomed the CREW Theatre Company into school on the 10th
January. In the second half of term, on 20th March, we will be visiting Woodlands Farm for a weaving workshop and ice cream making workshop to support our Science work.
In Maths we will be working  on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with numbers up to 100, 2D and 3D
shape and symmetry and measuring using different units of measurement.
Our focus for Literacy will be Traction Man leading to creating and publishing graphic novels. Then we will also be looking at story writing and non-fiction texts. Our non-fiction focus will be on information writing, explanation texts, glossaries and instructions.
